"Certicom approached me in late 2005. I had been using a large national provider of burglar alarm services in all of my stores, but had experienced significant difficulties in coordination, particularly when opening new stores. I started by providing Certicom an opportunity to handle burglar alarm systems in my new stores and CCTV maintenance calls. Certicom’s project management capabilities eliminated my problems. As a result, in 2006, I converted all of my burglar alarm monitoring over to Certicom, as well as all CCTV service calls. Their sales and support people have smoothed this transition process. "Certicom approached us with a proposal for a unique system combining cameras, microphones and in-store sensors to remotely monitor our in-store operating performance. We chose an initial pilot site and cooperated to customize a configuration that fit the layout of our kiosks. We agreed to target employee and store appearance, courtesy, following procedures, effectiveness of promotions, and suggestive selling as key performance criteria for our monitoring activities. After the first two months, our store experienced 48% year-over-year revenue growth, with significant improvement in staff attitude and behavior. We have approved an expansion of this pilot program to cover all locations managed by one regional manager and, if we experience even a portion of this improvement in performance, I plan to move forward with a system-wide deployment of this program."
